A weekend dedicated to bronze: thrilling demonstrations and a rich mixture of hands-on activities will draw young and old to the museum park.
Experimental archaeologists will demonstrate the craft of bow making and present Bronze Age clothing, food, ceramics, and musical instruments. And the bronze workshop is not to be missed: using Bronze Age methods, pieces from the Prêles grave ensemble will be recast and worked over a crackling fire and hissing bronze. Children can try their hand as archaeologists at an excavation, reconstruct Bronze Age pottery, cast an object in pewter, make Bronze Age accessories, or discover hidden bronze treasures on a puzzle trail in the museum park. The programme is rounded off with guided tours for children and adults around the exhibition “And then came bronze!”
The bar in the museum park and the restaurant Steinhalle are open.
